Based on personal experience in the academy, concerns arise about the studies developed in the history of Industrial Design in Colombia, and the contemporary direction it has taken. Since the time of colonization, the imposition of a Eurocentric vision is evident that generates a sense of underdevelopment that has permeated its inhabitants, and therefore, Industrial Design in Colombia, where in many cases the thought and imaginary of the exterior is assumed as the only future of progress, in a context that having a single history and design practices, must have its own development, future and progress.
